This weekend I got to witness the marriage of Melanie and
Mark Dey. After knowing each other for
numerous years, they were able to finally tie the knot on such a beautiful
day. The wedding ceremony encompassed
numerous members of their families with her father being the presider. It was held in a small church with her family
and friends in attendance. Melanie’s
dress was gorgeous, and you could tell she was truly happy marrying Mark. Overall, the ceremony was short and
sweet. The theme revolved around the
season of fall and falling in love. I
thought that theme fit in perfectly to the season, as well as describing their
relationship.
The reception followed the wedding at a nearby hall. It was very simple, but worked well with the
theme and personalities of the wedding couple. Dinner was buffet style and was
delicious. Foods ranged from roast beef
to chicken paprikash. After dinner,
toasts were said and a slideshow of the couple was shown. The evening concluded with the cutting of the
cake, and the couple thanking everyone for their attendance. Overall, the wedding and reception was
beautifully put together. Everyone
seemed happy and you could tell there was a connection between the bride and
groom.
Personally, I am so happy that I got the opportunity to come
home for a weekend to participate in the event.
Over this past summer, I had the privilege of getting to know Melanie
and Mark a little bit more. They are
both genuine individuals who truly care about each other. In addition, they are always smiling and you
can tell they have a strong foundation.
Overall, I would have to say the day was success, and I am looking
forward to seeing where life takes them.
Celine - First off congratulations to your friends on their wedding. Throughout your post you can tell that they have a really strong connection. It also sounds like the ceremony was beautiful and they had perfect weather. This past summer, I attended two weddings and at both the ceremony and reception were perfect. Sounds like you had a really good time at the wedding, and as you mentioned, buffets are always a positive. Sounds like you had a great weekend!
